Service Blueprint - Walmart Pay

Project timeline - 3 weeks
Requirement -
Create a service blueprint of Walmart Pay in order to present the stake holders from the financial services department in Q1 2020 and bring in more transparency with our strengths, limitations and opportunities.

Approach -
My process was to dig in from scratch and gain secondary as well as primary research information on Walmart Pay.
I also did multiple visits, where with the help of in-store associates I was able to observe the users using Walmart Pay and interacting with Self Checkout (SCO) machine.

Walmart Pay - 2.0

“How might we use our data and ensure the users have a seamless experience and walks back home happily (satisfied)”

With this above statement I was assigned this conceptual project and come up with a user journey that will give Sarah (our most common user name) full control over her spending, Save time and maximize savings

Our 3 assets for Walmart Pay is -

Walmart+Pay+2.0.jpg

This is how Sarah’s current Walmart Pay experience looks like at SCO (Self Checkout)

Walmart+Pay+2.0.jpg

Currently Sarah (best case scenario) about 4 cards to use and pay the bill for her weekly shopping

Cards - Available balance

1. Debit Card - $200
2. Gift Card - $40
3. EBT Card - $50
4. Money Card - $70

Scenario (Current) -
Sarah has trouble handling kids and finding her wallet from her bag.
She is also a little stressed because of the people waiting behind
She is trying to make payment of about $130 by splitting in 4 ways
She has to do the math at that point of time where her goal is to optimize her savings.

Usability Test

“A confirmation screen after scanning gave the participants a

sense of control while still being easy to use”

“The extra step gives me comfort that it processed properly.”
”It’s clear. The option to change cards gives me a second chance. It’s more inline with card transactions.”
”That’s what I expect, I might want to change the card. This prompt is awesome”
